EVENT NOTE The Great Ohio River Swim is a challenging event that requires appropriate skills and preparation. The course is across the river and back and is approximately 900 meters long. Competing in the Great Ohio River Swim requires swimmers to have experience sighting in open water, negotiating river currents and being able to compete a swim at least 1000 meters long. At registration, all participants will be asked to verify that they are prepared to compete in the Great Ohio River Swim and have completed 1000 meters/yards without stopping within 2 weeks of event date. With all due respect, please do not enter this event if you cannot sign the verification.

Join The Ohio River Way and swim the Ohio River in the Fifth Annual Great Ohio River Swim. On Saturday morning, July 21, 2012 at 7:30am athletes will again enter the Ohio River for the biggest and only open water swim competition in the Ohio River. July 21 is the day before the Cincinnati Triathlon so you can do both events. The
course starts at the upstream end of the Serpentine Wall, swims directly
across the Ohio River to Kentucky and then angles back to finish at
Public Landing. The distance is just under 900 meters. On site check-in will begin on Saturday, July 21 at 6:30 a.m. at the finish line at Public Landing. Mandatory pre-race meeting is at 7:00am. Registration and check in will close at 7:15am. The swim will begin at 7:30 a.m. There will be FREE parking on the Public Landing for Saturday morning only (remember there is no parking at Public Landing on triathlon morning). The
Great Ohio River Swim Clinic will take place at 7:00am at the Serpentine
